lupa projects
Since September of 2014, the LUPA team began a journey with a group of motivated and dedicated students at the Nova Academy, Coachella Valley High School and the Environmental Youth Alliance. Each group explored the most basic land use planning concepts and discovered how they affect community and individual health. During this process, they learned, shared ideas and collaborated to increase public awareness around the importance of land use planning.
our current project
Based on a youth-led photovoice, the LUPA team in collaboration with various health advocates and artists are experimenting with "tactical ruralism" to address the need for more shade structures at bus stops in the eastern Coachella Valley.
