Affordable housing is the topic that students at the Environmental Youth Alliance focusd onto learn the basic components of land use planning. Conducting a site visit to"Las Casas", an affordable housing complex in the City of Coachella, was an instrumental piece of their learning process. Las Casas is a project completed by the Coachella Valley Housing Coalition, whose mission is to help low-income families improve their lives through advocacy, research, construction and operation of quality housing and community.
